- Minimum 7 years of progressive payroll experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or comparable payroll systems
- Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) or Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, taxation, and employment standards across multiple provinces and territories
Preferred:
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional payroll, including Indigenous organizations or government-funded projects
- Experience integrating payroll with ERP platforms (e.g., Sage Intacct)
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset

Your Daily Tasks
Payroll Operations- Manage and process end-to-end payroll cycles for salaried, hourly, and contract employees across multiple entities using ADP Workforce Now (or equivalent).
- Ensure timely and accurate bi-weekly/monthly payroll processing, including new hires, terminations, changes, bonuses, retroactive pay, vacation, and other entitlements.
- Oversee and reconcile payroll journal entries and ensure integration with the general ledger and ERP system.
- Ensure accurate and timely remittance of statutory deductions (CPP, EI, QPP, QPIP, EHT, WSCC, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with all relevant federal and provincial employment laws, tax legislation, and internal payroll policies.
- Prepare year-end documentation, including T4s, RL-1s, T4As, and ROEs.
- Respond to internal and external audits, and coordinate with Finance on reconciliation and compliance queries.
- Monitor changes in legislation and ensure system and process updates are implemented accordingly.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on ADP payroll functionality; lead system configuration, upgrades, and integration with other HRIS and accounting platforms.
- Review, develop, and implement internal controls, procedures, and best practices to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and data security.
- Lead payroll-related projects, including process automation and employee self-service improvements.
- Supervise and mentor payroll support staff, ensuring effective cross-training and professional development.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and senior management to support workforce planning, budgeting, and strategic compensation initiatives.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing employee payroll inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
