We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to provide quality education and individualized support to children with special needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students reach their full potential by creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment tailored to each child's unique abilities and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on each student's learning needs and abilities.
- Assess students' academic, behavioral, emotional, and social development.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons using appropriate teaching strategies, instructional materials, and assistive technologies.
- Teach children with various special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, Speech and Language Delays, Learning Disabilities, and other developmental conditions.
- Foster students' independence, confidence, communication, and daily living skills.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and evidence-based behavior management techniques.
- Monitor and document students' progress and prepare regular reports.
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to support each student's overall development.
- Participate in case conferences, parent meetings, and school activities.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Adapt teaching methods and learning materials according to students' individual needs.
- Encourage social interaction, emotional regulation, and life skills development among students.
- Stay updated on current SPED teaching practices, educational policies, and intervention strategies.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT) is preferred but not required (depending on school requirements).
- Experience teaching children with special needs is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior management, and inclusive education practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, compassionate, flexible, and highly organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and parents.
- Basic computer skills for lesson planning, documentation, and reporting.
