Collections Manager (Local Collections)

About Us

We are a leading credit & debt management company, servicing fintech, banking, and finance clients with portfolios under management. We are seeking an experienced Collections Manager to lead our local collections team, drive performance, and maintain strong relationships with our partners and clients.

• Lead and manage collections teams (inbound/outbound) to meet or exceed targets across delinquency buckets (early, mid, late stage).
• Develop, monitor, and enforce collection strategies, workflows, segmentation, and escalation policies.
• Engage regularly with fintech, banking, and finance clients to align on performance, reporting, expectations, and service levels.
• Oversee staffing, workload balancing, scheduling, coaching, and resource allocation in the collections unit.
• Monitor team performance metrics: flow rates, promise-to-pay (PTP) conversion, roll rates, recovery rates, delinquency trends.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, calibrations, and coaching to raise standards and accountability.
• Lead process improvement initiatives to optimize collections effectiveness, reduce operational waste, and improve customer experience.
• Approve exceptions, write-offs, settlements or referral to legal / litigation, per policy.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements in collections practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., Risk, Legal, Operations, MIS) to align on portfolio risk treatment and reporting.
• Prepare reports and dashboards for senior management and client stakeholders, with key insights and recommendations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in collections / debt recovery / credit operations.
• Prior experience managing a collections team / department.
• Experience working with fintech, banking, or finance clients preferred.

• Strong understanding of local collections, credit cycles, regulatory environment, and legal collections / litigation.
• Skilled in analyzing collections metrics, aging tables, portfolio roll rates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, data handling, dashboards / MI tools.
• Experience with collections systems / software / dialers / workflow tools is a plus.
