We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Warehouse Officer to lead our inventory management and warehousing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all materials are available at the right time and quantity while maintaining a clean, green, and hazard-free environment.
You will play a pivotal role in optimizing costs, securing assets, and leading a motivated workforce toward operational excellence.
Job Purpose
Plan and implement all warehousing and inventory activities to ensure material availability and quality at the lowest possible cost. You will drive efficiency through strategic planning, inventory integrity, and strict adherence to global safety and environmental standards.
Core Responsibilities- Inventory Integrity & Strategic Management
- Lead periodic bulk materials surveys and root cause analysis for inventory variances.
- Validate and recommend material min-max levels and replenishment parameters to support Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Create stock transfer orders and coordinate with forwarders and plant counterparts to ensure seamless delivery.
- Manage the disposal, monitoring, and reporting of assets under the Asset Reduction Program.
- Warehouse Operations & Maintenance
- Design and implement warehouse layouts to optimize storage space and protect items from damage, wastage, or pilferage.
- Monitor stock health to prevent deterioration and system data inaccuracies.
- Issue work orders for equipment repair and manage requisitions for replacements to maintain the physical condition of the facility.
- Compliance, Safety & Ethics
- Ensure 100% compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) and Health and Safety standards.
- Adhere to Internal Control Standards (ICS) and Accounting Reporting Principles for all audits.
- Implement environmental policies to improve performance and contribute positively to nature and society.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards in all internal and external dealings.
- Leadership & Development
- Identify training needs and implement developmental programs for the warehousing staff.
- Foster a highly motivated and safety-conscious workforce.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience in plant manufacturing and/or inventory and warehouse management.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data processing systems, ideally SAP.
- Familiarity with manufacturing technology, machinery elements, and finance/controlling workflows.
- Strong understanding of procurement practices and government legislation (e.g., BOC).
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules and Information Security (IT) directives.
