This role involves collaborating with production, marketing, and quality assurance departments to develop competitive and high-quality fabric solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and test new fabric materials, textures, and finishes based on market trends and customer feedback.
- Analyze fabric performance, durability, colorfastness, and sustainability aspects.
- Conduct laboratory tests on fabric samples using appropriate testing equipment and methods.
- Collaborate with suppliers for sourcing raw materials and innovative textile components.
- Coordinate pilot runs for new fabric developments and evaluate outcomes for mass production readiness.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for all R&D activities and test results.
- Work closely with the marketing and sales team to understand market demands and adjust R&D focus accordingly.
- Monitor competitors and international fabric trends to inform innovation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with local and international textile standards and safety regulations.
- Lead or support sustainability and eco-friendly textile initiatives in line with company goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Engineering, Fabric Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- At least 2–5 years of experience in textile product development, R&D, or similar roles.
- Strong knowledge of textile fibers, dyeing techniques, weaving, knitting, and finishing processes.
- Familiarity with textile testing protocols (e.g., ASTM, ISO standards).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in technical report writing and data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Creative mindset and passion for textile innovation and quality improvement.
- Experience with sustainable or performance fabric development is a plus.
