Neurophysiology Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs and/or assists in the performance of tasks such as but not limited to the following:

• Assesses patient’s general medical condition, provides information to the patient about the procedure and expected benefits and risks, and gives proper instructions to patients prior to the procedure.
• Performs electroencephalography (EEG), nerve conduction studies (NCS), and evoked potential (EP) as prescribed by a licensed physician.
• Monitors patients during tests and indicates artifacts or interferences derived from sources outside of the brain; measures electrical activity in peripheral nerves.
• Performs prolonged EEG as prescribed by a licensed physician.
• Coordinates with doctors and/ or other units the patient’s condition as needed.
• Encodes patient information, charges the procedures and prepares results.
• Prepares patient’s record and laboratory documents.
• Ensures that all equipment and accessories are functioning properly and the materials and supplies needed in the procedure are available.
• Maintains appropriate records and generates reports as required (e.g. Monthly census of procedures, Annual Reports, etc.)
• Mentors and supervises Junior Neurophysiology Technician in developing and implementing diagnostic and therapeutic treatment plans.
• Assists the Senior Neurophysiology Technician II and III in implementing the department’s processes and procedures to ensure smooth workflow within the unit.
• Adheres to proper safety precautions and infection and prevention control
• Ensures confidentiality and security of data, compliant with the requirements of the patient privacy or confidentiality act.
• Performs other responsibilities that may be assigned by the immediate head from time to time.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Allied Health
• At least 2 years of relevant experience; Training in neurophysiology procedures (EEG, EMG-NCV)
• Willing to do rotating shift wok
• One (1) Full-time position available
• CAN START ASAP
