Local Parts Procurement Buyer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Handles sourcing of capable and reliable vendors for the development and fabrication of automotive parts and other items for local content and export requirements; renders technical assistance to vendors during development stage and actual production; and assures continuous supply of parts ordered.
• Support MZK activities through confirmation of cost reduction and conducting supplier visit to generate kaizen ideas that can contribute to both supplier and MMPC enhancement. Regular follow-up meeting with suppliers and involved department to monitor progress of MZK activities.
• Distributes to vendors the Requests for Quotation (RFQ) together with drawings and sample parts; interprets and clarifies drawings and specifications with vendor and follows-up submission of quotations.
• Evaluates quotations by making computations based on current cost of materials, labor, overhead, etc. and make economic and comparative cost analysis; recommends vendor from whom to purchase based on quality and delivery reliability and competitive price.
• Prepares the following: Purchase Order (PO), Blanket Purchase Order (BPO), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Supplier Notices and Tool Purchase Order (TPO).
• Conduct local supplier audit (with audit team) for improving supplier performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of any Engineering courses
• With work experience in industrial works and purchasing
• Knowledgeable in Local Parts Supplier's manufacturing processes
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
• With driver's license
