OptiHR Business Solutions Inc. is hiring and Junior Application Security Engineer for a technology-focused organization supporting secure application development and cybersecurity operations.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented cybersecurity professional with foundational experience in application security, vulnerability management, and security testing. This role is ideal for candidates who want to further strengthen their experience in application security while working closely with development and infrastructure teams in a collaborative environment.

• Support vulnerability assessment and application security testing activities
• Assist in identifying, documenting, and tracking application security findings and remediation efforts
• Perform basic security reviews and validation activities for web and enterprise applications
• Coordinate with development teams regarding security findings and remediation updates
• Help maintain security documentation, reports, and operational records
• Participate in security monitoring and incident support activities when needed
• Support implementation of secure coding and application security best practices
• Stay updated on common application vulnerabilities, cybersecurity risks, and security trends
• Collaborate with internal teams on security improvement initiatives and compliance activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field
• At least 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, application security, vulnerability management, or related technical support roles
• Basic understanding of web application security concepts and common vulnerabilities
• Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools or security scanning solutions is an advantage
• Exposure to OWASP concepts, secure coding practices, or application testing methodologies is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation abilities
• Willingness to learn and grow within the cybersecurity and application security field
• Experience in banking, fintech, or enterprise environments is a plus but not required

• Exposure to penetration testing or security testing activities is an advantage
• Familiarity with ticketing, issue tracking, or security monitoring tools
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle processes
• Security certifications or related training are advantageous but not required
