In this role, you will:

This role you will serve as the cornerstone of our global security operations, specializing in the deployment, management, and optimization of SJ security products. Your role ensures the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of SJ’s digital assets by leveraging SJ cybersecurity ecosystem.

You will lead security initiatives, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to fortify our infrastructure against evolving threats while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Microsoft-Centric Security Operations & Infrastructure Management
  • Administer, configure, and maintain Microsoft security tools, including Microsoft Defender Suite (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365), Azure Sentinel (SIEM), Azure Security Center, Intune, and Active Directory.
  • Design and enforce security policies using Microsoft Conditional Access, Azure AD Identity Protection, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
  • Oversee patch management, vulnerability assessments, and hardening of systems via Microsoft Update Management and Security Compliance Toolkit.
  • Monitor and optimize Microsoft 365 Defender for threat detection and response across email, endpoints, and cloud apps.
  1. Incident Response & Threat Mitigation
  • Lead real-time incident response using Microsoft Sentinel for investigation, threat hunting, and automated playbooks.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for security breaches and implement remediation strategies aligned with SJ cybersecurity best practices.
  • Able to participate in penetration testing which will be conducted in a yearly basis
  1. Compliance, Governance & Strategy
  • Align security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) with Microsoft security benchmarks and Azure Policy governance.
  • Participate in Audit Compliance Activity as required
  • Participate in maintaining security standards for cloud (Azure) and hybrid environments, including Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
  • Mentor junior staff on SJ cybersecurity tools and incident handling.
  • Partner with Group Technology teams to integrate Microsoft security solutions into global projects (e.g., cloud migrations).
  • Liaise with Microsoft support and third-party vendors to resolve complex issues.
  1. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Research emerging threats and evaluate new Microsoft security features (e.g., Defender for Cloud, Purview).
  • Participate in quarterly security posture reviews using Microsoft Secure Score and recommend improvements.
  1. Operational Support & Documentation
  • Provide L2/L3 support for escalated security incidents in a 24/7 rostered environment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, incident playbooks, and compliance reports.
  • Deliver training sessions to IT teams and end-users on Microsoft security tools and policies

What you will bring to the team:

  • A Bachelor's/College Degree in a related field.
  • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity, CompTIA Security, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years managing Microsoft security ecosystems (Azure, M365, Defender), including hybrid/cloud environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; ability to translate technical
  • Experience in Intune and any patch management technologies
  • Experience in Anti-Virus, Web/Email Security, DLP, Cloud App Security, Ensign, Fortinet, ProofPoint, Zscaler, Microsoft Intune and Sandboxing
  • Strong Documentation, RCA’s , record keeping and Project Handling skills
  • Experience in Incident Handling Management
  • Experience with scripting languages to automate tasks (Powershell, VBscript and Batch file)
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks within a multi-tasking environment.
  • Skilled in IT Security management (antivirus, antispam technology and patch management)
  • Ability to apply analytical skill and conceptual thinking to operations and systems planning across a range of technologies.
  • Willing to work on shifting schedule and on call Rotation

As GSS services were introduced to more companies and locations, GSS saw its size double, from 88 to 200, unique and talented individuals by 2019.
