About the role
Polystar General Services Inc. is seeking a talented and dedicated Building Engineer to join our team in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence and safety of our building facilities.As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with relevant regulations. This role is essential to our commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and well-maintained facilities for our clients and their occupants.
Key responsibilities- Oversee and maintain all building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical installations, water systems, and other critical building infrastructure
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues efficiently
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, records, and documentation of all work performed and parts used
- Coordinate with contractors and external vendors for specialised repairs and maintenance work
- Monitor utility consumption and implement energy efficiency measures to reduce operational costs
- Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies
- Train and supervise junior maintenance staff, providing guidance on proper procedures and safety protocols
- Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance supplies, equipment, and repair services
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective measures to maintain a safe working environment
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent technical qualification
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related engineering discipline
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and maintenance best practices
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematic diagrams
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to maintenance issues
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the facility and surrounding areas as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Relevant certifications in building maintenance, HVAC servicing, or electrical systems would be advantageous
- Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call availability for emergencies
