Job description:
TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER
To provide a high level of technical support across the company, both to internal customers and to external customers. To continually innovate in order to ensure the department is offering the best level of service in terms of services and equipment.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- To provide the following to internal and external clients:
o Network support and general configuration
o Server support and general maintenance
- Perform the following :
o Preventive Maintenance on a regular basis to maintain the consistency and reliability of all IT related hardware and application systems
o Prepare accurate and timely reportso Proper recording and closure of all IT related issues by documenting all steps taken including their resolution.
- Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by network users.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
- Knowledge of the following:
o Database Systems (SQL, MySQL etc.)
o Operating Systems such as Windows and Open source (Linux)
o Basic Troubleshooting of Hardware and Software issues
o Remote Desktop applications
o Mobile devices, other tech products
o Basic Networking concepts and terminologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies
- Service oriented and customer focused
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
