You will serve as a Actuarial Analyst on the Individual Marketplace (IM) Actuarial Team. Your overall goal will be to support the profitable growth of the Individual Marketplace. To that end, your work will include a wide variety of complex projects, including financial modelling, data analysis and visualization, and results delivery to the Actuarial Team and other IM colleagues.

This is a foundational role that provides excellent opportunities to grow your business acumen, actuarial skills and client management skills by working on cutting edge projects at one of the world’s leading actuarial consultancies.

You will report to the Senior Actuary and collaborate with our sales and marketing teams as well as actuaries and consultants in our Health & Benefits and Retirement practices. You will partner closely with other IM actuaries and execute according to excellence protocols to ensure timely delivery and quality of your work, for which you are responsible.

You will also coordinate with analysts from our consulting actuarial teams to support effective and accurate data flow into our actuarial models.

You will provide quantitative results that will ultimately integrate with qualitative narratives to build a comprehensive message of value that will drive the profitable growth of the Individual Marketplace. You will also serve as a resource to colleagues to drive awareness of the value of our Individual Marketplace.

As an Actuarial Analyst, you can expect to gain additional exposure to all facets of retiree health care and expertise in individual health care insurance.

The ideal candidate will have some experience with health care insurance, strong problem-solving skills, and technical ability, particularly with Microsoft Excel and other applications designed for manipulating large datasets. You will be on a path to become a subject matter expert in Medicare plans, ACA plans, Health Reimbursement Arrangements and the internal processes related to our business.

Any existing experience in these spaces is a plus. This role will require a hunger to learn, ability to manage high volumes of work, and an energy to build internal relationships.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in a consulting firm or health insurance carrier
  • Some experience with retiree health care benefits and insurance is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with significant quantitative course work
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and produce quality deliverables on time
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, VBA, SQL, Python software experience a huge plus (Excel is a must)
