Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation, accuracy, and compliance of financial statements, ensuring alignment with applicable government regulations and reporting requirements, including but not limited to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Local Government Units (LGUs).

This role oversees core accounting operations, including revenue management, tax compliance, financial reporting, and reconciliations. The Senior Accountant also coordinates with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and full compliance with statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of revenues and expenses in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Manage and monitor revenue recognition to ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles and contractual terms.
• Oversee billing and collections processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation of all transactions.
• Analyze revenue streams, identify variances, and provide insights to support business decisions and financial performance.

• Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and aligned with bank records.
• Review and record payroll entries, check vouchers, and liquidation reports, ensuring proper documentation and accounting treatment.
• Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, amortization, depreciation, reclassifications, and closing entries.
• Review and verify supporting documents such as purchase orders, sales invoices, official receipts, and reimbursement requests.

• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations.
• Coordinate funding requirements and initiate capital calls or funding from stockholders when necessary.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all tax obligations (BIR), including monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
• Prepare and file Annual Information Returns and other statutory reports.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements of BIR, SEC, LGUs, and other government agencies.
• Assist in responding to BIR notices, letters, and tax assessments, including preparation of schedules and supporting documents for tax audits and investigations (e.g., Letter of Authority).

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement), ensuring accuracy and proper variance analysis.
• Perform periodic reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to ensure consistency and integrity of financial data.
• Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors, ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
• Prepare and submit documentary requirements and regulatory reports as required by government agencies.

• Lead the annual renewal of business permits, licenses, and registrations with relevant government agencies.
• Ensure proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping for all financial and regulatory transactions.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: BS-Accountancy or any related course.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.
• With 4 - 5 years of experience in general accounting, Financial statement preparation, and revenue/expense account management.
• Background in hospitality, real estate, SaaS, or service industries is a plus.
