We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant specializing in tax compliance to join our team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, review, and filing of tax returns, as well as providing expert tax planning advice to clients.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, and exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company’s tax databaseFind tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits
Make sure that clients comply with national and local tax regulations
Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws
Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work
Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports
Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications
File the monthly, quarterly and annually tax returns of the CompanyCoordinating accounting functions and programs.
Preparing financial analyses and reports.
Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.Assisting with annual audit preparations.
Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.
Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA license is highly preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting or related field.
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with demonstrated expertise in tax compliance, planning, and research.
Proficiency in tax software and accounting software, including but not limited to QuickBooks and others.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and develop innovative solutions to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to producing high-quality work and minimizing the risk of errors or discrepancies.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts and findings to clients, colleagues, and regulatory authorities.
Leadership abilities with experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and promoting professional development.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with changes in tax legislation and industry trends.
