Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Scheduling
- Develop detailed project schedules
- Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
- Prepare work breakdown structures (WBS) and activity sequencing.
- Coordinate with project teams to establish realistic schedules and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules regularly.
- Identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements for accurate costing.
- Develop project budgets and cost baselines.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and value engineering studies.
- Assist in bid preparation and tender documentation.
- Cost Control & Monitoring
- Track project expenditures against the approved budget.
- Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Identify cost overruns and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Monitor commitments, invoices, and subcontractor payments.
- Ensure proper documentation and cost tracking systems are in place.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Coordinate with site engineers to validate actual progress vs. planned progress.
- Present updates to management and stakeholders.
- Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and finance teams.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers for planning and cost-related matters.
- Support project meetings and provide technical insights on schedule and cost performance.
- Risk Management
- Identify project risks related to schedule and cost.
- Develop mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
- Monitor risk factors and update risk registers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Licensed Engineer (preferred)
- Minimum of 5–10 years experience in planning and costing within construction industry
- Experience in both horizontal and vertical projects is an advantage
