Payroll assistant

About the role

This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development within a supportive work environment.

• Accurately calculate and process employee payroll, including salaries, deductions, and benefits
• Maintain detailed payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant labour laws and regulations
• Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and other financial documentation
• Collaborate with the accounting team to reconcile payroll-related accounts
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
• Provide administrative support to the payroll and HR functions as needed

• At least 2 years of experience in a payroll or accounting role, preferably in the janitorial services industry
• Strong proficiency in using payroll software and spreadsheet applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel)
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees
• Familiarity with relevant labour laws and regulations governing payroll and employee benefits
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
