About the role
As a Business Development Manager for CBRE GWS, you will lead the strategic pursuit of high-value Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contracts across the commercial, industrial, and retail sectors. You are a high-impact "hunter" responsible for the full sales lifecycle—from identifying emerging market opportunities and designing sophisticated, data-driven pitch decks to leading executive RFP defenses.By bridging the gap between complex operational needs and CBRE’s world-class FM solutions, you will drive aggressive revenue growth and position the firm as the premier strategic partner in the outsourcing landscape.
What you'll be doing
Strategic Leadership & Market Expansion- National Growth Strategy: Orchestrate business development and expansion efforts across the country through rigorous strategic planning and execution.
- Sector Penetration: Identify and pursue new FM outsourcing opportunities across commercial, industrial, and retail sectors, positioning CBRE as the market leader.
- Executive Stewardship: Build and nurture long-term, high-value relationships with key institutional clients and C-Suite stakeholders.
- Solution Tailoring: Act as a strategic partner to understand client pain points and align CBRE’s "Global Standards, Local Expertise" narrative with their operational goals.
- End-to-End Deck Creation: Lead the design of professional, data-driven pitch decks that translate complex FM service models (technical maintenance, cleaning, energy management) into visually compelling narratives.
- Executive Pitching: Lead formal presentations and RFP (Request for Proposal) defenses, confidently articulating the value proposition to procurement heads and senior leadership.
- Portfolio Growth: Drive aggressive revenue growth through new client acquisition and the expansion of existing client portfolios.
- Market Foresight: Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- "One CBRE" Approach: Work closely with cross-functional service lines (Project Management, Sustainability, and Advisory) to deliver holistic, value-driven solutions.
- Technical Synergy: Collaborate with technical FM teams to ensure presentations and proposals are operationally sound and commercially viable.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and manage the full sales cycle within CRM systems.
- Strategic Reporting: Provide regular updates on business pipeline, sales forecasts, and performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in new business development, preferably within the sales/services industry
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and growing client portfolios
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify and capitalise on market trends
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels
- Highly organised and able to effectively manage a complex pipeline of opportunities
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field (e.g. business, marketing, sales)
