Job Description

• Ensures that proper sampling techniques are used in the evaluation of materials and products.
• Plans and directs the workflow of the group daily.
• Plans validation and verification activities
• Assists in the selection of equipment/materials and in setting process parameters.
• Monitors achievement of the targets and objectives of the department.
• Supervises the preparation of solutions and chemicals in the laboratory.
• Ensures the regular calibration and proper use and maintenance of laboratory apparatus/equipment
• Assists in the selection of equipment/materials and in setting process parameters.
• Validates methods and procedures whenever necessary
• Recommends improvements of quality assurance system.
• Monitors and controls the use of laboratory supplies.
• Ensures timely review of documents and creation of documents as necessary
• Ensures proper disposal of laboratory waste.
• Authority to Approve/reject all components – raw and packaging materials, labeling materials, as well as bulk and finished products.
• Authority to Approve/reject product manufactured or packed or, held under control by a third party manufacturer.
• Authority to Approve/reject procedures, which have impact on the product quality or product specifications.
• Authority to Review production records and quality control records.
• Support monitoring and controlling the manufacturing environment, plant cleanliness production validation, calibration, training of personnel, approve supply of materials and contract parties, protect products and materials against spoilage and deterioration and the maintenance of records.

• Communicate results of testing to concerned departments
• Initiates and coordinates with other departments for the immediate action whenever there is deviation in the standards.
• Investigates quality problems and recommends correction, corrective or preventive solutions.
• Conducts periodic inspection and audits of plants, warehouses and toll packers.
• Reviews, analyzes and gives final conclusion on the results of the daily tests conducted.
• Evaluates established standards against local and international standards
• Evaluates non-conforming products and issues orders for their disposition.
• Recommends improvements and upgrading of food safety and quality control system.
• Establish and review the effectiveness of the verification plan needed for quality (BIQ) and food safety (RM/PM, FGs)
• Provides technical assistance to consumer/customer inquiry/complaints
• Conducts monitoring, verification and closure of CPIARS
• Conducts orientation and training on Quality, GMP, etc.
• Submits reports and other technical papers from time to time

• Graduate of BS Chemistry
• Maybe a fresh grad or with at least 1 year work experience in a related field
• Must have working knowledge in food safety management system
• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Registered Chemist or registered Chemical Technician
