Baker

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Baker to join The Islands Group. The Baker will be responsible for preparing fresh, high-quality breads, pastries, and desserts The ideal candidate has strong baking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistency and quality in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; technical course is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience in baking breads, pastries, and other baked goods
• Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and baking standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
• Creative and passionate about producing high-quality baked products.
• Willing to work in a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares and develop baked breads, pastries, desserts and other baked products.
• Cooks savory menu items following standard recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Ensures consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all products.
• Assist in daily production planning based on forecasted orders.
• Supports other kitchen production tasks when needed.

• Monitors food quality during preparation and cooking
• Checks freshness of ingredients before use.
• Maintains product consistency according to company standards.

• Maintains cleanliness of workstations, ovens, mixers, and kitchen equipment.
• Follows food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Properly store ingredients and finished product in designated storage area/room.
• Assist in cleaning and organizing storage areas.

• Assist in receiving and checking raw materials.
• Report low stock levels to supervisor.
• Minimize waste and practice proper stock rotation (FIFO)
