Site Electrical Engineer - Solar PV

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated PV Site Engineer / Solar Site Engineer to supervise and monitor on-site construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities for commercial and industrial (C&I) solar photovoltaic (PV) projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Site Supervision and Construction Management
  • Supervise day-to-day site activities related to solar PV system installation and construction.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, electricians, suppliers, and construction personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure all site activities are performed safely and in accordance with company safety policies and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and verify quality of workmanship.
Electrical and Technical Implementation
  • Supervise installation of:

o Solar panels

o Inverters

o Cable trays

o Conduits

o AC/DC cabling

o Grounding systems

o Protection devices

o Monitoring systems
  • Verify proper implementation of electrical works based on approved single-line diagrams (SLD), layouts, and engineering drawings.
  • Assist in testing, commissioning, energization, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems.
  • Coordinate technical issues and site concerns with the engineering and project management teams.
  • Ensure proper installation practices for both rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems.
Project Coordination and Reporting
  • Coordinate daily work activities, manpower deployment, and material requirements.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly accomplishment and progress reports.
  • Monitor material deliveries and site inventory to ensure availability of required materials and equipment.
  • Attend project meetings, toolbox meetings, and coordination meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Report project delays, technical issues, safety concerns, and site risks to project management.
Quality Control and Safety Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with:

o Philippine Electrical Code (PEC)

o Occupational safety standards

o Project quality requirements

o Utility and client standards
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks for electrical installations and construction activities.
  • Verify testing results, commissioning reports, and punch list items prior to project turnover.
  • Ensure implementation of proper housekeeping and safety practices at project sites.
Documentation and Turnover
  • Assist in preparation of:

o Inspection reports

o Testing and commissioning reports

o As-built drawings

o Punch lists

o Turnover documents
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and site records.
  • Support project close-out and turnover activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of Electrical Engineering or related engineering course.
  • Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) is preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of experience in solar PV construction or electrical site engineering.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects is preferred.
  • Preferably with experience in:

o Ground-mounted solar systems

o Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Knowledgeable in:

o Electrical installation

o Solar PV systems

o Cable management systems

o Testing and commissioning procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret:

o Single-line diagrams (SLD)

o Electrical drawings

o Layout plans

o Technical specifications
  • Familiarity with Philippine Electrical Code (PEC) and safety standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic AutoCAD usage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Willing to work on-site and travel to project locations when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience handling solar projects 500 kWp and above.
  • TESDA certification or safety training certifications are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with inverter commissioning and monitoring systems.
  • Experience coordinating with utility providers and inspectors is an advantage.
