Our client is a growing design and construction business specialising in commercial interiors, workplace environments, architectural projects, and development-based solutions. As the business continues to expand beyond traditional fit-out services into broader architecture and ground-up project work.We're seeking a highly skilled Offshore Draftsperson / Design Support professional to support its Perth-based team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial drafting and documentation experience who thrives in a collaborative remote environment and understands Australian workplace design standards, architectural expectations, and commercial fit-out documentation processes.The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing coordinated drawing packages, supporting concept development, and contributing to high-quality project delivery across a variety of commercial and workplace projects.
JOB DESCRIPTION AS A DRAFTSPERSON/DESIGN SUPPORT
Your Responsibilities as a Draftsperson/Design Support would be:
- Prepare accurate and coordinated working drawing packages for commercial interior, workplace, architectural, and development projects up to approximately 60% completion.
- Produce high-quality AutoCAD drawings, SketchUp models, renderings, and presentation materials as required.
- Assist in the development of concept layouts, workplace planning solutions, and spatial design options.
- Interpret briefs, sketches, mark-ups, reference documents, and design direction to develop structured documentation packages.
- Prepare demolition plans, partition plans, reflected ceiling plans, furniture layouts, finishes plans, and other project documentation.
- Support the preparation of schedules, specifications, diagrams, mood boards, and presentation materials.
- Ensure all drawings are accurate, coordinated, clearly presented, and aligned with HUB's drafting standards and document control procedures.
- Review and update drawings based on internal feedback, revisions, and project changes.
- Ensure documentation aligns with Australian Standards, National
- Construction Code requirements, and workplace design expectations.
- Research and source materials, finishes, furniture, fittings, lighting, and supplier information to support design development.
- Maintain organised project folders, drawing files, and digital documentation in accordance with HUB systems and procedures.
- Communicate proactively with the Perth-based team regarding project progress, timelines, risks, missing information, and task updates.
- Attend online meetings, design reviews, and project coordination sessions during agreed Perth business hours.
- Collaborate closely with HUB's design, estimating, project, and construction teams to support successful project outcomes.
- Maintain a high standard of quality, professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail across all issued work.
Qualifications as a Draftsperson/Design Support:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, Building Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 to 4+ years proven experience in drafting, documentation, or design support roles.
- Strong portfolio showcasing self-authored commercial, workplace, architectural, or office fit-out projects.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, SketchUp, and 3D modelling/rendering software is highly desirable.
- Experience working on Australian architecture, commercial interiors, workplace, or fit-out projects is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, workplace design principles, Building Codes, and National Construction Code requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a remote team.
- Strong spatial awareness, technical drafting capability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and follow structured workflows and approval processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to seek clarification and communicate proactively.
- Ability to take feedback professionally and revise documentation efficiently.
- Experience collaborating remotely with international teams is an advantage.
