Head of Commercial Excellence, PH
THE POSITION
The Head of Commercial Excellence leads the local commercial excellence strategy, in line with ROPU and Global strategy, to best drive commercial performance and business growth at the local level.
The Head of CE ensures the commercial teams are set up for success, by operating efficiently and effectively, with a competitive pricing strategy and by leveraging available data and digital channels and platforms, while continuously improving the customer experience.
The Head of Commercial Excellence plays a pivotal role in shaping the commercial direction of the PH OPU. The role’s impact is seen in fostering collaboration, elevating the effectiveness of the field force, increasing the adoption of multi-channel tools and data-driven decision-making, and enabling competitive pricing.
Duties & Responsibilities- Co-create priorities with business segments in line with local brand plans.
- Promote data driven decision making for behavioral segmentation, campaign design, business insights, guiding organizational change and developing high performance teams.
- Understand market dynamics and translate complex analyses into practical business actions.
- Lead initiatives to optimize field force effectiveness and commercial capabilities. Oversee sales force excellence including multichannel engagement strategies, ensure consistent customer engagement trainings, coaching trainings and lead certification programs for the field force.
- Support the transition of marketing-owned channels to species, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment between the field force and marketing teams.
- Develop and drive the local data strategy to generate actionable customer insights. Ensure meaningful data analysis is used to inform strategic business decisions. Oversee the deployment and effective use of commercial platforms and tools.
- Adapt and implement global/regional pricing strategies to local realities, including designing and managing discounting structures, tender strategies and commercial conditions while ensuring compliance with local legal and policy framework.
- Drive Cross-functional Collaboration within species and teams, ensure understanding of the value Commercial Excellence adds, seek opportunities to improve and automate operations by "thinking outside of the box", pilot new ideas and collaboratively assess effectiveness. Ensure business segments are aware of and can measure the impact of their activities by utilizing key messages, reviewing dashboards and driving behavioral segmentation approaches with tailored content.
- Through close collaboration with global, regional and local stakeholders, the Head of Commercial Excellence ensures that commercial strategies are both innovative and executable, driving sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and a customer-centric mindset across the organization.
About our future employee:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or any related course
- Advanced knowledge in sales force optimization, multichannel commercial models and pricing strategies.
- Demonstrated track record of meaningful experience in diverse Customer Experience/Commercial Excellence roles ideally in various geographical settings (local, regional, Global)
- Ability to negotiate and influence across a matrix & cross-functional organization
- Strong project, process, and change management skills, experience leading project teams and developing business cases, plans, scope definition and presentations
- Experience in customer-facing and / or marketing excellence initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to align with global and regional guidelines and engage stakeholders at all levels, while effectively tailoring and delivering commercial excellence initiatives to local market needs
- Ability to influence and drive change with resilience and can-do attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong results orientation and problem-solving skills
- In depth understanding of commercial processes, market dynamics, and customer engagement models within the life science or animal health sector
- Ability to work independently, with a proactive mindset
- Language: Fluency in oral and written English
