We are looking for a driven and relationship-focused Business Development Officer to help expand our merchant network across the food, restaurant, bar, retail, and service industries.
In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring new merchant partners, managing existing accounts, and supporting merchant onboarding for digital payment solutions. This is ideal for someone with strong consultative selling, client relationship management, and field sales experience, who enjoys working directly with business owners and decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Generate and qualify leads through phone outreach, field visits, trade events, and flyeringConduct in-person and remote sales pitches to restaurant owners, managers, and business decision-makers
Schedule merchant meetings and presentations
Manage regular follow-ups to move leads through negotiation, contract signing, and onboarding
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities for additional products and services
Merchant Onboarding & Training
Collect, verify, and complete merchant requirements and documentationEncode merchant data from online and offline sources into internal platforms
Conduct onboarding and product training for partner merchants
Guide merchants in using portals, apps, and digital workflows
Process merchant information updates and requested account changes
Ensure compliance with procedures, standards, and documentation requirements
Account Management & Growth
Build strong, long-term relationships with SMB merchant partnersAnalyze partner performance and recommend growth strategies
Support merchant revenue growth through promos, expansion, and product adoption
Recommend customized product solutions based on merchant business needs
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth fulfillment and partner success
Maintain accurate account records and merchant profiles
Client & Stakeholder Management
Participate in client meetings, brainstorming sessions, and planning discussionsPrepare and submit client reports as needed
Act as the voice of the merchant internally to improve partner experience
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities
