Key ResponsibilitiesMeasure and mix ingredients (flour, sugar, yeast, etc.)
Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and icings
Bake items like bread, cakes, cookies, and pastries
Decorate baked goods (especially cakes and specialty items)
Follow recipes and ensure consistent quality
Monitor oven temperatures and baking times
Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards
Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies
Take custom orders and meet customer requests (in some roles)
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Education: High school diploma is usually enough for entry-level jobs.Optional: Certificate or diploma in baking/pastry from a culinary school.
Skills RequiredMeasuring and mixing ingredients accurately
Knowledge of baking techniques (bread, cakes, pastries)
Time management (baking requires strict timing)
