COST ACCOUNTANT

The ideal candidate will ensure cost efficiency, maintain financial accuracy, and support management in making data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops, maintains, and analyzes costing systems for projects and other business ventures.
• Monitors and controls project expenses, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
• Identifies cost variances and provides recommendations to improve financial efficiency.
• Conducts cost-benefit analysis for materials, labor, subcontractors, and other project expenses.
• Assists in setting and reviewing cost standards and cost allocation methods.
• Assists in the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
• Tracks budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.
• Works closely with project managers to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
• Assesses financial risks related to project costs and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Prepares and maintains cost reports, financial statements, and expense tracking.
• Ensures accurate record-keeping of costs, invoices, and project-related financial data.
• Reviews and validates supplier, subcontractor, and vendor payments based on project budgets.
• Conducts regular audits to verify cost accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Implements best practices in cost control and financial management.
• Identifies process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance financial efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Supports external and internal audits related to cost and financial transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, project budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Prime, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent numerical literacy, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
