The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts for cement products by analyzing historical sales, market trends, customer requirements, and business intelligence. The role works closely with Sales, Production, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance to support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, optimize inventory levels, and ensure product availability while meeting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual demand forecasts for all cement product lines.
  • Analyze historical sales, customer orders, market trends, seasonality, and economic indicators to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Key Account teams to incorporate market intelligence into demand forecasts.
  • Lead or participate in the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Monitor forecast performance and identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and reduce forecast bias.
  • Coordinate with Production Planning to align manufacturing capacity with forecasted demand.
  • Work closely with Logistics and Distribution teams to ensure timely product availability across plants, terminals, and warehouses.
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend actions to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Identify demand risks and recommend mitigation plans for supply disruptions or unexpected demand fluctuations.
  • Prepare demand planning reports, dashboards, and presentations for management review.
  • Support new product launches, promotional activities, and major customer projects through demand planning.
  • Maintain planning master data within ERP systems and ensure data accuracy.
  • Continuously improve demand planning processes, tools, and forecasting methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain planning, sales forecasting, or inventory management, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience in the cement, construction materials, FMCG, or heavy manufacturing industry is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a cross-functional environment.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, Power Query, advanced formulas).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Knowledge of demand planning and forecasting tools is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or statistical forecasting techniques is a plus.
