Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Acts in an advisory capacity on all matters pertaining to safety for the guidance of the company and the workers;
2. Serves as Secretary to the Health and Safety Committee. As such, he/she shall:

1. Prepare minutes of meetings;
2. Report status of recommendations made;
3. Notify members of the meetings; and
4. Submit to the company a report of the activities of the committee, including recommendations made.

1. Assist in the investigation of incidents and reviews the actions to prevent recurrence;
2. Coordinates all applicable health and safety training programs for the employees and contractors;
3. Conducts routine health and safety inspections to identify workplace hazards and unsafe behavior’s, and reports them to area owners and/or immediate supervisors for appropriate actions;
4. Maintains or helps in the maintenance of an efficient accident record system and coordinates actions taken by supervisors to eliminate accident causes;
5. Provides assistance to government agencies in the conduct of safety and health inspection, accident investigation or any other related programs;
6. Provides safety talks during toolbox/pre-shift meetings of departments;
7. Assists in preparing, implementing, and monitoring of safety plans and programs;
8. Reviews Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Determining Control of departments on a regular schedule;
9. Prepares Safety Bulletins, Incident Alerts, and Incident Reports;
10. Facilitates compliance of the company to legal safety requirements;
11. Facilitates the establishment, operation, and maintenance of an Emergency Response Team;
12. Assist in organizing the conduct of safety emergency drills;
13. Assist in the preparation, checking, consolidation and submission of work-related reports such as but not limited to Annual Work Accident/Illness Report, Quarterly Report to Department of Labor and Employment, Report on Safety Organization, Employer’s Work Accident Illness Report, Safety Procedures, Safety Guidelines, Safety Inspection Reports, Safety References, Investigation Reports, Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Determining Control of all Departments, Safety Plans and Programs, Monthly Accident Statistics, Analysis of Data, Monitoring of Action Plan Report, Minutes of Safety Committee Meeting, Accident Monitoring Report;
14. Assist in the implementation of ISO 45001 Safety and Health Management System;
15. Assist in the conduct of safety and ISO 45001 trainings to employees and contractors;
16. Issues a WORK STOPPAGE ORDER (WSO) for uncontrolled potential high-risk activities, when necessary, in accordance with the requirements and procedures provided by the OSH Standards.
17. Performs other related tasks assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

Experience : At least 3 years proven experience as Safety Officer (preferably in an industrial setting)

Minimum 2 years experience in corporate EHS management systems (OHS guidelines, compliances, ISO 9001, ISO 45001)

Additional 48 hours of advance/specialized occupational safety training course relevant to the industry

With trainer background is a plus.

Certification/License: Certified Safety Practitioner (SO3)

40 hours BOSH Training Certification

Additional 40 hours COSH Training Certification for SO3
