Job description:
As a Legal Administrative Assistant for Litigation, you will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities spanning multiple practice areas. This role entails a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Preparing and drafting petitions, motions, briefs, and other essential pleadings;
- Prepare, update, maintain legal litigation calendar for meetings, hearings and other legal proceedings;
- Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, affidavits, agreements, settlements, and demand letters;
- Organizing and maintaining documents in an electronic filing system;
- Meeting with clients, attorneys, and other professionals to discuss case details;
- Assisting in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, and performing other necessary tasks;
- Gathering facts and appropriate case laws and conducting searches of public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action;
- Conducting in-depth investigations into case facts and extensive research on pertinent laws, jurisprudence, articles, and journals;
- Strong aptitude for case management, including the ability to strategize, analyze evidence, and offer comprehensive legal assistance to prospective witnesses;
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving abilities, characterized by attention to detail and a capacity to assess intricate legal matters and formulate effective strategies;
- Proven ability to work harmoniously in a collaborative team environment, cooperating with fellow associates, paralegals, support staff, and other professionals;
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment, embracing changes in legal landscapes and shifting priorities;
- Familiarity with legal research databases, case management software, and relevant technology tools associated with corporate law; and
- Flexible in taking on other tasks as required by the Legal Manager for Litigation.
- Other administrative tasks as may be required by the Legal Department such as but not limited to assisting the Director for Legal Affairs, review and execution of client contracts (MSAs and SOWs), monitor client contracts pending signature, assist in the preparation of legal documents, staff activation and deactivation and other internal legal matters.
Qualification and requirements:
- Must have at least 2-3 years of experience working as a Legal Assistant/Secretary in a BPO setting or a Law Firm (experience in handling case files, pleadings, and other documents for litigation is a plus)
- Must have a Bachelor's degree and have a legal background or units in legal education (ongoing law student or underbar may apply)
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail is a must as the position requires a review of legal documents and commercial contracts.
- Willing to work on-site for twice a week (This is a Hybrid Work Setup)
