Position Summary

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical and automation systems within the manufacturing plant. The role ensures maximum equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency to support continuous production in compliance with Nestlé standards.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and plant equipment

Ensure proper functioning of:

Motors, drives, control panels

Production and packaging equipment

Execute maintenance plans aligned with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)

Troubleshooting & Repairs

Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Instrumentation & Controls

Maintain and calibrate instrumentation systems (temperature, pressure, flow, level)
Support the operation of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
Assist in system upgrades and automation improvements

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Adhere strictly to:

Electrical safety standards
Nestlé Quality Management Systems

Food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP)

Ensure all maintenance activities are compliant with internal and regulatory standards

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for:

Equipment reliability improvement
Energy efficiency

Cost reduction

Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of:

Maintenance activities
Equipment performance

Incident reports

Update technical documentation and work instructions

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications

Education

Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in: Electrical Engineering

Instrumentation / Mechatronics
Related field
Experience
At least 1–3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance
Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing is an advantage

Technical Skills

Knowledge of: Electrical systems and controls

PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
Industrial automation and instrumentation
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
