Functional Test Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
The Functional Test Analyst is responsible for validating product features, journeys, and business rules across the four core product domains: Customer Acquisition, Marketing Engagement, Service Operations, and Data Enablement.
The role ensures every enhancement, release, and integration meets the required business logic, customer experience standards, and operational requirements.
This analyst creates and executes structured test scenarios, partners closely with Product Managers and Developers, and works with Test Automation Engineers to convert high-value test flows into automated coverage.
This role plays a critical part in DPP’s quality governance, helping ensure reliable and predictable delivery of digital capabilities across web, mobile app, kiosks, backend systems, and cross-channel workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Test Planning & Design- Translate PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria into comprehensive test cases.
- Create domain-specific test scenarios reflecting real customer and operational workflows.
- Identify edge cases, dependencies, and integration risks early in the delivery cycle.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, UAT, and exploratory tests across channels.
- Validate end-to-end flows across Customer Acquisition, Marketing Engagement, Service Operations, and Data Enablement.
- Log, reproduce, and verify defects; collaborate with engineering for fast resolution.
- Work closely with Product Managers to understand business rules, workflows, and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering to clarify requirements and technical behavior.
- Coordinate with end-user departments during UAT phases.
- Contribute to release readiness assessments and defect triage.
- Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities in product flows and processes.
- Provide input into testability, standards, and documentation for the product domain.
- Partner with Test Automation Engineers by converting manual test scenarios into automation-ready scripts.
- Reviewing automated test results and validating false positives/negatives.
- Providing business logic guidance for automated workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- At least 3–5 years in QA, functional testing, UAT, or business systems analysis.
- Experience testing digital platforms (web, mobile app, CRM tools, back-office systems).
- Experience supporting UAT cycles with business teams.
- Exposure to agile delivery and collaboration with cross-functional squads.
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Ability to analyze business rules, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with APIs, data validation, or cross-system integrations (advantage).
- Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- Strong documentation and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills for bridging business and technical discussions.
