Role Overview
As an IT Intern supporting the Desktop Engineering team, you will gain hands-on experience in enterprise IT operations. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you’ll assist in maintaining and supporting hardware, software, and network systems while learning the fundamentals of technical troubleshooting and service management.
Key Responsibilities- Shadow and assist in supporting LAN-based networking infrastructure
- Participate in the installation and basic maintenance of computer hardware and software
- Assist with setup and troubleshooting of voice systems including cabling, phones, and headsets
- Support cabling tasks for new and existing workstations under supervision
- Observe and assist in basic computer system repairs and upgrades
- Provide Tier 1 support for hardware/software issues under guidance
- Learn to monitor Service Now tickets and understand SLA management
- Help track and manage headset inventory and deployment processes
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Desktop Manager or Lead Desktop Engineer
- Exposure to enterprise-level IT infrastructure and support workflows
- Hands-on experience with hardware/software troubleshooting
- Understanding what IT Desktop support role is and ticketing systems
- Development of communication and collaboration skills in a technical environment
