Overview
A leading organization in the property development sector is seeking a senior project controls professional to oversee planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management across multiple development projects. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered within approved schedules, budgets, and strategic objectives while providing management with actionable insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Direct project planning, scheduling, and controls activities across a portfolio of development projects.
- Lead the preparation and management of project budgets, cost plans, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Track project progress against key milestones, financial objectives, and operational targets.
- Evaluate budget variances and implement appropriate corrective measures to maintain project performance.
- Support feasibility assessments, resource allocation planning, and project evaluation initiatives.
- Develop management reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for senior leadership.
- Collaborate closely with technical, procurement, commercial, finance, and project delivery teams.
- Identify project risks, assess potential impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost optimization, and project governance.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development to planning, controls, and cost management professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering license is advantageous.
- Postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or Master's degree are preferred.
- At least 10–15 years of experience in project planning, project controls, cost management, or property development environments.
- Minimum of 5 years of specific experience in property development environments is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or people management capacity.
- Proven experience in:
- Project scheduling and controls
- Cost planning, forecasting, and budget management
- Large-scale residential, mixed-use, or land development projects
- Financial reporting and project performance analysis
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, advanced Excel, and reporting platforms.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and decision-making capabilities
