Mechwest Inc. is seeking a meticulous and dependable Accounting and Data Entry Clerk who will be responsible for managing financial records and maintaining accurate data in computer systems and databases. The ideal candidate must possess strong administrative expertise, ensuring all related tasks and functions are executed correctly and processed according to company policies and procedures.
This role is based in Ortigas, Pasig City, and offers the opportunity to work with an Australian-owned and operated company
Key Responsibilities: Accounting- Accurately record financial transactions on a daily, monthly, or quarterly basis (as prescribed) in the accounting software
- Ensure all entries are accurately and properly categorized, coded, and posted in a timely manner
- Process and prepare various accounting documents, including invoices, receipts, vouchers, and billing statements, in accordance with established timelines and guidelines
- Process accounts payable and/or accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently
- Reconcile records for precise financial management, ensuring all accounts are balanced and accurately reflect financial activities
- Maintain proper filing and ensure safekeeping of accounting documents
- Provide support with various accounting tasks as required including, but not limited to, summarization of taxes, tracking of expenses, budget management, reports generation, etc.
- Responsible for receiving, compiling, and entering data from source documents into the company’s database and/or accounting software
- Actively follow through with source persons regarding missing/incomplete information to ensure accurate and timely data entry
- Alert supervisor/manager if discrepancies arise for further checking and immediate resolution
- Facilitate thorough checking to ensure accuracy and reliability of data entered/processed
- Maintain organized and accessible storage for financial records and supporting documents through proper filing and archiving
- Ensure audit readiness by keeping documentation comprehensive and up to date
- Maintain the confidentiality and security of all records handled, in accordance with established standards
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with Xero accounting software is required for this role
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience is highly preferred
- Strong keyboarding skills with high attention to detail; will pick up quickly on mistakes and inconsistencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle high-volume data and can work under pressure
- Fluent in English with great communication, writing, and reading comprehension skills
- A fast learner who grasps concepts and techniques quickly
- Follows instructions without supervision and is confident enough to ask for help
- Experience with other accounting software such as Quickbooks, SAP, MYOB, etc. is a great advantage
- Exposure to Australian companies/clients is an advantage
- Has tertiary qualification in accounting or related fields
