Junior Technician

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance services (PMS) on Hino trucks and buses under supervision, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-ups, and lubrication
• Assist in inspecting and servicing brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, exhaust, and electrical systems
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new units to ensure roadworthiness before customer release
• Carry out washing, cleaning, and basic detailing of service vehicles as required

• Assist Senior Technicians in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults on Hino vehicles
• Support engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and drivetrain servicing as directed
• Properly use diagnostic tools, service equipment, and hand tools in accordance with Hino standards
• Follow repair orders accurately and complete assigned tasks within the given time estimates

• Accurately record work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job order
• Request and receive parts from the Parts Department, verifying correct items before installation
• Report any additional findings or defects discovered during servicing to the Service Supervisor

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times
• Follow all workshop safety protocols, PPE requirements, and Big Trucks standard operating procedures
• Handle tools, equipment, and customer vehicles with care and accountability
• Dispose of waste materials (used oil, filters, fluids) in accordance with environmental regulations

• Actively participate in Hino-accredited training programs, technical workshops, and in-house coaching
• Work toward completing Hino technician certification levels as guided by the Service Supervisor
• Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by applying learnings from each job

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of a vocational or technical course in Automotive Technology, Diesel Mechanics, Electrical Technology, or any related field (TESDA NC II or higher is an advantage)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is an advantage but not required

• 0–2 years of hands-on experience in automotive or heavy vehicle servicing
• Fresh graduates from accredited automotive/technical schools are encouraged to apply
• Prior exposure to truck, bus, or heavy equipment servicing is an advantage

• Basic knowledge of diesel engine systems, automotive electrical systems, and drivetrain components
• Ability to use basic hand tools, pneumatic tools, and workshop equipment safely
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces
• Keen attention to detail and a strong sense of workmanship and quality
• Willing to undergo Hino-specific technical training and certification
• Honest, punctual, and team-oriented with a positive attitude toward learning
