Construction and Design Supervisor
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, results-driven, and detail-oriented Construction and Design Supervisor to lead the planning, execution, and completion of construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects across multiple sites. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with company design standards and quality expectations.
The successful candidate will oversee repair and maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors while maintaining full accountability for project execution, procurement, equipment maintenance, and operational readiness. This role requires a strong balance of construction expertise, design appreciation, leadership, and project management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management- Lead, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Project Managers, ensuring all construction, renovation, and maintenance projects are delivered according to approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for project delays, design conflicts, construction challenges, and site-related issues.
- Monitor project progress through regular reporting, milestone reviews, and site visits.
- Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated and executed.
- Oversee all construction, fit-out, renovation, and structural repair projects from planning through completion.
- Ensure all works comply with approved design specifications, engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to company brand and quality standards.
- Review contractor performance and ensure timely completion of assigned works.
- Review, approve, and oversee procurement activities related to construction materials, fixtures, equipment, and finishes.
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Finance teams to optimize purchasing strategies and prevent project delays due to material shortages.
- Evaluate supplier and contractor performance to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for company facilities and equipment.
- Monitor repair schedules and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities to minimize operational disruptions.
- Coordinate with internal technical teams and external service providers to resolve equipment and facility issues efficiently.
- Maintain maintenance records and recommend equipment replacement or upgrades when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable construction regulations, occupational safety standards, and company policies.
- Implement quality assurance procedures throughout project execution.
- Identify opportunities to improve construction processes, maintenance programs, procurement efficiency, and project delivery.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, progress reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction supervision, project management, commercial fit-outs, retail expansion, or facilities management.
- Proven experience leading construction, repair, and maintenance teams across multiple project sites.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering principles, blueprint interpretation, and design layouts.
- Experience overseeing procurement processes, contractor management, and project budgeting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to resolving project and operational issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is an advantage.
- Professional license in Civil Engineering or Architecture is an advantage.
- Experience in retail, commercial, hospitality, restaurant, or multi-site construction projects is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and facilities management.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, and external vendors in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
