Facilities and Maintenance
The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, reliability, safety, and operational readiness of company facilities, equipment, utilities, and fleet assets. The role ensures that commissary buildings, warehouses, refrigeration systems, production equipment, freezers, utilities, and company vehicles are properly maintained through effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
This position requires a strong maintenance leader with expertise in facility operations, equipment reliability, fleet management, and team supervision. The role focuses on improving asset performance, reducing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities and Equipment Management- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of commissary buildings, warehouses, offices, and other company facilities.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, chillers, freezers, and cold storage equipment within required standards.
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for specialized repairs, installations, and maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment history, maintenance schedules, and repair activities.
- Develop, implement, and improve preventive maintenance programs for facilities, equipment, and utilities.
- Monitor maintenance schedules to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Establish maintenance procedures and standards to improve equipment reliability and extend asset life.
- Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
- Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of company trucks, delivery vehicles, forklifts, and service vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles undergo scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and necessary repairs.
- Monitor vehicle condition, registration, insurance, permits, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement maintenance strategies to improve fleet reliability and reduce unexpected breakdowns.
- Lead, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance technicians, mechanics, and support personnel.
- Prepare work schedules and allocate manpower based on operational requirements.
- Monitor team performance, productivity, and compliance with maintenance standards and safety procedures.
- Promote a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Reduce emergency repairs through effective preventive maintenance planning.
- Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve utility efficiency.
- Manage contractor expenses and maximize internal maintenance capabilities.
- Improve preventive maintenance compliance and increase equipment uptime.
- Implement initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance operations, engineering, or plant maintenance leadership.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, refrigeration, utilities, equipment maintenance, and fleet operations.
- Experience managing maintenance teams and coordinating contractors.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to analyze maintenance costs, improve processes, and drive operational efficiency.
