Librarians

• Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science
• Licensed Librarian (an advantage)
• With experience as a Librarian in a school setting (an advantage)

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Performs circulation function and maintains an organized circulation system
• Maintains and updates student’s and personnel’s library records
• Prepares monthly circulation report and semester report
• Maintains an orderly environment for library users

• Guides and assists users in searching and retrieving the information resources they need
• Instructs clients on how to search for information resources using library databases and other library search tools
• Creates and conducts Library Information Literacy Program

• Processes print and non-print materials
• Indexes journals and magazines
• Updates Library Pathfinder of e-book and journal articles
• Prepares report on the library’s subscription and purchases of library resources
• Conducts annual inventories of library materials
• Prepares monthly report on processed library materials and annual inventory report

• Strengthens the collection by suggesting resources based on user queries or borrowing patterns
• Identifies and applies appropriate methods for preservation and repair of library materials

• Computer proficient
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Proficient in cataloging all types of library materials
• Excellent research skills
• Familiar with navigating online resources and library databases
• Abreast with the current trends in libraries
