About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant or Accounting Assistant to join our team at AP International Freight Forwarding & Cargo Handling Corp in Intramuros, Manila City. This full-time role is crucial in supporting our growing business by ensuring accurate financial records and reporting.

You will play a key part in the company's operations and strategic decision-making.

What you'll be doing
  1. Key responsibilities:
  • Invoice creation: Gather all necessary information to create accurate invoices and credit memos, such as sales orders, timesheets, and service agreements.
  • Payment processing: Process and post incoming payments received through various channels (e.g., cash, check, online) and apply them to the correct customer accounts.
  • Customer communication: Respond to customer questions and complaints regarding bills, account balances, and payment status in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collections: Monitor accounts receivable to identify and follow up on outstanding or delinquent payments, sending reminders and contacting customers as needed.
  • Record maintenance: Update accounting records with new payments, balances, customer information, and account status changes to ensure all data is current and accurate.
  • Reporting: Assist the accounting department with preparing weekly, monthly, or quarterly billing reports for management.
  • Data integrity: Verify and reconcile billing data, checking for inconsistencies between billing information and shipping logs or other records.
What we're looking for
  1. Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  2. Proven experience as a Billing Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with numerical data.
  5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills for dealing with customers and internal staff.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  8. A high level of integrity and respect for confidentiality when handling financial information.
