Research and Development Assistant

Job description:

1. Product Testing & Preparation

• Assist in preparing recipe trials and product experiments
• Follow R&D instructions accurately during testing
• Measure and record ingredients and procedures properly
• Help evaluate taste, texture, and presentation of products

1. Documentation & Standardization

• Document all recipe trials, including adjustments and results
• Assist in creating standardized recipe guides
• Maintain organized records of product development activities
• Support preparation of recipe costing sheets (with guidance)

1. Quality & Consistency Support

• Ensure consistency in sample preparation during testing
• Help identify issues in taste, texture, or process
• Support improvements based on feedback from R&D Manager

1. Kitchen Coordination

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of R&D kitchen area
• Ensure proper handling and storage of ingredients
• Assist in inventory tracking of R&D materials

1. Testing Support for Operations

• Assist in preparing samples for store testing or pilot runs
• Support feedback gathering from stores or internal testers
• Help monitor execution of new products during rollout phases

• Graduate of or background in HRM, Culinary Arts, Food Technology, or related field (preferred)
• Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
• Organized and disciplined in documentation and recording
• Willing to work in a kitchen/lab environment
• Good communication skills (English & Tagalog)

• Experience in kitchen work, food service, or commissary operations
• Exposure to recipe development or food testing (school or work-based)
• Interest in food innovation and product creation

• Detail-oriented
• Patient and methodical
• Willing to do repetitive testing and adjustments
• Team player, takes direction well
• Curious about food and improvement

• This is a support role, not a decision-making role in product development
• Creativity is encouraged, but final decisions come from the R&D Manager
• Work may involve repetitive testing until standards are met
• Must be comfortable with structured kitchen experimentation
