MAIN FUNCTION: Responsible for making entries into ledgers and journals of the assigned branch timely and with accuracy.
Supervise accounting assistants of assigned branches.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Record all day-to-day transactions of the bank and adhere to acceptable accounting procedures.
- Review the daily transactions of the Cashier, Savings Bookkeeper, and tellers, and Loans.
- Keep track of the inflow and outflow of cash from the bank.
- Consolidate, classify, and summarize all transactions in chronological order and post them in the respective account books. Report the financial status to the Manager.
- Monitor weekly reserve, risk assets ratio, past due ratio, working capital, and other relevant metrics.
- Prepare debit and credit tickets along with supporting documents for all transactions.
- Prepare T-accounts in the daily proof sheet.
- Verify signatures on documents.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements.
- Ensure that all employees are properly bonded for the amount of their accountability.
- Manage payroll.
- Post the day’s transactions to the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, and reconcile the accounts with the respective general ledger control accounts.
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports every month and as needed.
- Maintain systematic filing of all bank records as per the required filing system.
- Assist in verifying the authenticity of specimen signatures of withdrawals.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Board of Directors and/or Manager from time to time.
Qualifications/Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:- A bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Management Accounting is required.
- A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience is desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications is required.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask are essential.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team is mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality is a prerequisite.
- Detail-oriented, accurate, and organized candidates are sought.
- Stress management skills are essential.
- The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete tasks within specified deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
