Job Overview
The Site Engineer role oversees end-to-end site construction to meet SLA, QA, and WHSE standards, while supporting SAQ activities and public awareness sessions as needed. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, verifying site details and variation orders, managing Skom and Mob activities, aligning schedules, and ensuring site readiness.The role also monitors progress, attends weekly meetings, verifies QA/WHSE inspections (e.g., rebound hammer, rebar pull-out tests), oversees hold point inspections and final testing, and compiles all final documentation (As-Built BOQs, redline drawings, photos, checklists) to support the FAC process.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site induction training for contractors, covering construction methods, technical specifications, and QA/WHSE requirements.
- Assist with site hunting, SAQ-related issues, and public awareness sessions as directed by PTCI/MIDC SAQ.
- Conduct surveys, compile JTSSR reports, and verify variation orders, permanent power info, and site details.
- Manage SKOM & Mob activities, align construction schedules, and ensure site readiness, compliance, and WHSE standards.
- Monitor site progress (physically or remotely), update daily progress reports, and attend weekly meetings with PDM and QA.
- Verify rebound hammer and rebar pull-out tests, act as WHSE representative, and ensure compliance on-site.
- Conduct hold points inspections, verify site construction stages (e.g., excavation, rebar, formworks, casting), and ensure WHSE compliance.
- Issue snag lists, oversee final testing (verticality, voltage, grounding), and endorse sites for PAT with vendors.
- Compile and submit final documentation, including As-Built BOQs, redline drawings, site photos, and checklists, to PDM.
- Submit all completed checklists, logbooks, and documents to PTCI documentation department to initiate the FAC process.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certifications in Workplace Health, Safety, and Environment (WHSE) or Quality Assurance (QA) are preferred.
Skills:
- Strong skills for site hunting, surveys, SAQ activities, and managing multiple tasks with accurate progress updates.
- Excellent communication for public awareness sessions, team collaboration, and problem-solving to ensure smooth project execution.
- Proficient in conducting site inspections, verifying technical details, ensuring compliance, and using tools like SharePoint for reporting and tracking progress.
- Strong analytical skills for reviewing JTSSR reports, variation orders, site documentation, and verifying QA/WHSE compliance, hold points, and final testing.
Experience:
- Possesses min 3 years of hands-on experience in telecom site construction, inspections, project management, and managing construction schedules.
- Proven track record in conducting surveys, JTSSR reports, site readiness activities, managing SKOM mob & site completion within the SLA.
- Skilled in verifying QA/WHSE compliance, hold point inspections, final testing, and compiling As-Built BOQs and redline drawings.
- Adept at coordinating with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for seamless project execution.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Holds in-depth knowledge of construction methods, technical specifications, WHSE standards, and quality verification tools.
- Proficient in interpreting and verifying technical drawings, site layouts, and conducting various final testing processes (verticality, voltage, insulation, grounding).
- Experienced in using SharePoint or similar tools for progress reporting and documentation.
- Well-versed in JTSSR reports, variation orders, perm power-related scopes, and FAC processes for project closure.
