Reports To: Technical Services Manager

Job Summary:

The Field Technician – Aquaculture is responsible for providing technical support, conducting field sampling, monitoring water quality, and assisting in the implementation of aquaculture best practices. This role supports farm operations to optimize health and growth of aquatic species, troubleshoot issues, and ensure sustainable farming practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine farm visits to monitor pond/tank water quality parameters (e.g., DO, pH, ammonia, salinity, temperature).
• Assist in the collection of water, soil, and biological samples for lab analysis.
• Support farmers with feeding schedules, disease management, stocking density planning, and harvest operations.
• Troubleshoot field-level issues related to mortality, growth rates, or environmental changes.
• Maintain accurate records of field observations, sampling data, and technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with R&D and technical teams to trial new products or techniques.
• Provide training and guidance to farm workers on good aquaculture practices (GAP).
• Ensure compliance with biosecurity, environmental, and safety protocols.
• Report findings and field insights to the management and technical support team.
• Conducts, monitors and documentaize product trials in farms

Requirements:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in aquaculture operations or fieldwork (freshwater or marine).
• Strong understanding of water quality management, fish/shrimp health, and basic farm operations.
• Ability to work independently in rural or coastal areas.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Willingness to travel frequently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with aquafeed, probiotics, or farm automation syste
