Heavy truck driver

Job Description

This role requires someone who is experienced with driving on long-distance routes, especially within North Luzon, and is capable of maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

• • Safely operate heavy trucks to transport goods and materials to designated locations, primarily within North Luzon.
• Plan and follow efficient routes based on delivery schedules and traffic conditions.
• Perform regular vehicle checks and maintenance to ensure the truck is in good working condition.
• Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods, following customer and company specifications.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization inside the vehicle.
• Ensure compliance with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
• Report any accidents, delays, or mechanical issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Assist in loading and unloading of goods when required.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including delivery reports, inspection forms, and logs.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in truck driving or transportation management is a plus.
• License: Must possess a valid Professional Driver’s License with code numbers 1, 2, 3, and 8.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a heavy truck driver, preferably with a strong knowledge of Luzon routes.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• Good physical condition, capable of managing long driving hours.
• Ability to perform basic truck maintenance and report mechanical issues.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow GPS directions and read maps accurately.
• Strong communication skills for coordination with team members and customers.

Preferred:

• Familiarity with handling different types of freight.
• Experience with loading/unloading equipment and safety procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
• Capable of lifting heavy items (depending on the cargo).
• Excellent eyesight and hearing, with the ability to concentrate for long hours.
