Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Light Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods using a light truck, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company policies.The driver will maintain the truck’s condition and ensure goods are handled safely during loading and unloading. This role requires a driver who is familiar with local routes, and who can operate a light truck while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a light truck for the transportation of goods to various destinations, primarily within local or regional routes.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transport.
- Ensure timely and accurate deliveries according to the assigned schedule.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on the truck, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, including customer details, delivery times, and mileage.
- Ensure that all deliveries comply with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out.
- Follow all road safety rules and traffic regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of goods for transport and ensure they are properly packaged and labeled.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
- License: Must possess a valid Professional Driver’s License with code numbers 1, 2, and 3.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience as a light truck driver or in a related driving position.
Skills:
o Knowledge of road safety regulations and local traffic laws.o Ability to navigate using GPS, maps, and local knowledge of routes.
o Strong communication skills to coordinate with customers and team members.
o Ability to manage time effectively to ensure deliveries are made on schedule.
o Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and ability to perform minor repairs or troubleshooting.
o Ability to lift and carry goods when necessary.
Preferred:
- Experience with customer service and delivering to commercial and residential locations.
- Familiarity with regional routes (e.g., Metro Manila and nearby provinces).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (depending on the type of cargo).
- Good vision and hearing, with the ability to drive safely for long hours.
