The role
You’ll work directly with our UK team to deliver high-quality bookkeeping and accounting support for UK small business clients. This is a hands-on role where accuracy, good judgement and strong communication matter.
Key responsibilities- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of UK small business clients
- Complete bank reconciliations and ensure records are accurate, tidy and up to date
- Prepare VAT return support work and identify issues early (missing invoices, incorrect VAT treatment, unreconciled balances)
- Support year-end accounts preparation (lead schedules, reconciliations, working papers)
- Support Self Assessment preparation (income/expense analysis, queries, supporting schedules)
- Support CIS processing and related compliance work where required
- Use cloud accounting software (FreeAgent, Xero, QuickBooks etc.) and follow standard internal workflows
- Work closely with the UK team daily: giving clear updates, raising questions early and keeping work moving
What we’re looking for
Essential- 2+ years of practical UK bookkeeping/accounts experience
- Comfortable with UK VAT basics and reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Clear written English and confidence working with UK-based colleagues
- Experience with FreeAgent (or strong Xero/QBO background)
- Exposure to CIS and UK year-end / Self Assessment work
- Previous experience working for a UK accounting practice or UK offshore support team
- A stable, full-time role with direct UK team collaboration
- Training on Helpbox processes and tools
- Clear progression as the Cebu team grows
