Ship's chief marine engineer

Graduate of BS Marine Engineering

Oversee the main engines, generators, boilers, and critical auxiliary systems.

Minimum 2-3 years of marine engineering experience is required.

Schedule and direct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and overhauls for the engine team.

Commercial vessel experience is required across any type of commercial vessel.

Directly manage and supervise the taking on of fuel and lubricants. Ensure strict compliance with maritime laws like SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) and MARPOL.

Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required.

Supervise waste management, incinerators, and pollution-prevention equipment (e.g., Oily Water Separators). Maintain engine room logs, technical records, and defect reports. Monitor the performance of the duty engineering watches.
