Role Description and Responsibilities
The primary objective of the role is to support the Finance Manager manage the preparation of robust financial information and associated reports for Management, the Board and Executive Committees.
As a Senior Financial Accountant key role will ensure that internal and external reporting is accurate, timely and in compliance with accounting standards and disclosure requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
This role specializes at preparing and analyzing financial information at a Brand and Divisional level overseeing all financial aspects of the operations as well as internal stakeholder engagement to drive effective outcomes.
You will also be responsible for providing hands-on support and guidance across the APG Brand you are responsible for.
We are seeking someone with a positive drive and willingness to get the job done! Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as possess strong organisation skills as strict deadlines are paramount.
Candidate must also have ERP system experience; Apparel 21 would be an advantage.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Preparation of financial information for Management, the Board and Executive Committees.
- Processing month end journals to produce the month end results as well as verifying entries and comparing to expectations
- Partner with various internal stakeholders to review monthly results and drive financial performance as well as provide financial analysis and interpretation to drive optimal business outcomes
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet control including reconciliations.
- Contribute to the budgeting processes to monitor, control, and evaluate costs, revenues, and cash flows
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls regarding the performance of the month end process and reporting outputs
- Provision of technical accounting expertise and advice to appropriately document commercial implications of business activities.
- Preparation of statutory reporting adjustments and financial statements in compliance with AASB’s.
- Risk and audit responsibilities, including managing the finance deliverables of the Audit Committee
- Liaise with external auditors in respect of financial audits and other audits of group results and reporting
- Automation and enhancement of business processes and reporting outputs
- Providing support to the Group Financial Controller as well as the Finance Manager
