Procurement Engineer

Responsible for the processing of request to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services under the general supervision of the Procurement Manager. Works includes the preparation of review of specifications, the receipt of bids or quotations, against specifications.

1. Receives, examines and processes requisitions against the supporting documents/data related to the purchase of materials, supplies and equipment and services.
2. Identifies from the list of accredited vendors source of supply, and places orders with appropriate bidder(s) after careful evaluation of cost.
3. Compares cost and evaluates the quality and sustainability of supplies, materials, equipment or services.
4. Conducts vendor accreditation and recommend non-performing vendors for blacklisting.
5. Interviews and corresponds with vendors; keeps informed of new products and market conditions and trends.
6. Maintains records on purchase price information on both the open market and contract purchases and revises these as conditions changes; obtains quotations on open market purchases.
7. Analyzes purchasing trends and determine if a contract or order would benefit the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Candidate must have at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Civil Engineering or other related courses

EXPERIENCE:

• At least five (2) years buying experience in a Construction Company

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledgeable of MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard purchase order software platforms
