Is responsible for preparing and producing a wide variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to hotel standards and guest preferences. The role ensures consistency, quality, and presentation of all bakery items served in the hotel or resort’s outlets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, bake, and finish baked products such as breads, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other desserts.
- Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the Pastry Chef.
- Ensure all baked goods meet hotel quality standards for taste, texture, and appearance.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bakery station, tools, and equipment.
- Assist in menu planning, new product development, and cost control initiatives.
- Monitor inventory and request ingredients or supplies as needed.
- Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times.
- Work closely with the culinary team to support banquet events, buffets, and restaurant needs.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Pastry Chef or Executive Chef.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Baker or similar role in a hotel, resort, or bakery setting.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, bread and pastry production, and food safety standards.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in product presentation
- Willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
- Vocational or college diploma in Baking, Pastry Arts, or related field is an advantage.
