Cost Accounting Senior Analyst

JOB ROLE:

The position also plays a key role in process improvements and mentoring junior team members.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the analysis of cost structures, margins, and profitability across products and business units
• Prepare and review product costing, standard cost updates, and variance analysis (materials, labor, overhead)
• Oversee inventory accounting, including reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting accuracy
• Monitor and enhance cost accumulation systems and internal controls
• Drive and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities related to costing and inventory
• Conduct and supervise physical inventory counts and cycle count programs
• Provide actionable insights and reports to management on cost trends, pricing, and profitability
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and recommend process improvements
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement) to ensure alignment on cost-related matters
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring quality and accuracy of outputs
• Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any business-related course (preferably Management Accounting or Accounting Technology)
• At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, or related roles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Experience in inventory management and costing systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
